Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! 🎉 Planning a small, intimate celebration is such a wonderful journey. Here are a few tips to help you get started: Define Your Vision: Sit down with your partner and discuss your vision for the day. Whether it's a cozy backgarden marquee wedding or an intimate venue, having a clear vision will guide your decisions. Choose a Venue: Look for venues that suit your guest count. Small guest lists open up unique possibilities, such as intimate restaurants, gardens, or boutique venues. Budget Planning: Having a smaller guest list offers flexibility with your budget. Direct your funds toward elements that hold the utmost importance for you. Consider prioritising professional photography or videography; these tangible memories are the lasting treasures from your special day. Time of Year, and Vendor Selection: A smaller wedding may allow for quicker planning. Choose a season that resonates with your vision, and swiftly connect with essential vendors to secure your preferred date. Ensure they have availability and explore suppliers whose offerings align seamlessly with your unique day. The intimate setting creates an opportunity to curate an experience that feels uniquely yours. Venue Location: Top tip: I have photographed a lot of small weddings that have decided to carve a little time into their day to visit a close-by location that holds sentimental value. This could add a unique and intimate touch to your memories. (See photo below).

As I reflect on the beautiful journey of the past year, I feel incredibly lucky to have been able to capture all the joy, love, and laughter that has been present at these special celebrations. One of the things I love most about photographing weddings is the opportunity to capture candid moments of pure joy. I have had the pleasure of photographing weddings in all sorts of locations this year, from rustic barns to fabulous halls, lush land from up in Scotland or down in Herefordshire, each with its own charm and character. No matter whether your wedding takes place in your friends back garden or abroad on the beach, no matter rain or sun, whether simple set-up or something grand, the atmosphere is always filled with excitement and anticipation and it really is the relationships and emotions that make these days great. As a fun wedding photographer, I strive to bring out the personalities of the couples I work with through my photographs. I want each image to reflect the love and happiness they share on their special day. It's moments like the newlyweds breaking out into a spontaneous dance or the entire wedding party erupting into laughter that truly capture the essence of these fun-filled celebrations. Through my photography, I aim to tell a visual story of each wedding, documenting the emotions, connections, and details that make these events unforgettable. From the genuine emotions shared during the vows to the carefully chosen decorations that reflect the couple's style, each element contributes to creating a magical atmosphere. My goal is to capture all of these elements and freeze them in time, allowing couples to relive their special day for years to come. As this year comes to an end, I can't help but feel grateful for the amazing opportunities and incredible couples I've had the pleasure of working with. Capturing the love, laughter, and joy of weddings has been an absolute privilege, and I can't wait to see what the future holds. Cheers to all the fun weddings of 2023 – may the memories created continue to bring happiness and smiles for years to come! As we step into a new year, I'm excited about the love stories yet to unfold. Cheers to all the couples who make my job a real joy.

I love, love, love a good Christmas wedding! <3 You can't beat everyone being in a really happy festive mood and all the lights set up making everywhere look pretty. December vibes are just the best <3 ***All images throughout this blog have been taken when no natural light has been available*** I thought I would just put a few points together on things to consider if you are planning a December wedding: 1. If getting your photos back sooner than later is important to you, then make sure to ask your photographer how long it takes them to get your photos back. I know this sounds like an extreme example, but I know someone who got their December wedding photos back in April! If you want to make sure you don't get your Christmas photos back in a different season; make sure you get in writing from your photographer when your wedding photos will be returned to you so there are no surprises! 2. The most important part of photography is definitely LIGHTING! All great photographers know lighting is the number one priority for beautiful images. THIS DOESN'T NEED TO SCARE YOU! It doesn't mean you can only achieve great photos in natural daylight! Good lighting once the sun has gone down could come from using a range of different sources such as streetlights, fairy lights, off camera flash lighting (which I always have in my bag). I actually love the creativity in photographing once the sun goes down because it helps me think outside the box and really create some unique, magical and atmospheric shots <3

Over the last few years, more and more couples are opting to have a smaller ceremony, only inviting those nearest and dearest to them, and then inviting wider friends and family to the reception afterwards. This way, the ceremony is less stressful and less pressure , but afterwards you still get to have lots of super natural shots of everyone enjoying themselves !! I know, knowing where to start when planning a wedding can be overwhelming, yet a lot of wedding suppliers get booked up two years in advance so getting moving with your wedding plans is SUPER important!! :) If you envisage a small wedding with a BIG party, then read up here my wedding planning tips, new bestie!! You will want to keep reading until the end as the last point is the most important (in my humble opinion)... Start by setting a budget and deciding on a venue. A smaller wedding will typically be less expensive than a larger one, so you may have more flexibility in your budget for a larger party afterwards. When looking at venues, really think about where best fits your personalities and style. Another point to make when choosing a venue is by how you feel around the staff. - Do they seem interested and excited by all of your plans? Is there a wedding co-ordinator who will be looking after you all day or will different team members be involved in your wedding day? Do they give off vibes that you will be well looked after or do you seem like 'just another wedding' to them? If you are going to have 1 location for the whole day ... Are there different rooms you can use? If you are having a smaller ceremony, you will want a smaller room to keep the intimacy (or can the ceremony be outside)? Then do they have a larger room for the celebrations afterwards?!?!
